2301 Constitution Avenue, NW

Prominently located at 23rd and Constitution adjacent to Washington's National Mall, the new headquarters of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) is a global resource, hosting and employing diplomats, dignitaries and thinkers from around the world. The 154,000 square-foot building was designed by internationally renowned architect Moshe Safdie and features a roof of wing-like translucent glass elements above a honed limestone atrium floor. USIP staff moved into their new facility in the spring of 2011 and it opened to the public that fall. Selected in the summer of 2010 to maintain and care for the landmark, Akridge assumed property management responsibilities prior to USIP's occupancy, providing assistance in preparing the building and its occupants for initial move-in as well as ongoing operations.

USIP is LEED Gold certified and is an EPA ENERGY STAR labeled property.
