The Homer Building

In 1990 the Homer Building’s historic lobby and original four-story facade were incorporated into a new, 460,000 square foot, 12-story building with a full height atrium. It was Akridge's first integration of new development and historic preservation, and  is one of the  most elegant structures in Washington's commercial center. Located atop Metro Center station, its premier amenities, including a roof deck with rare views of the DC skyline, and a full-service fitness facility, make The Homer Building the destination for business in downtown Washington. The building has received numerous accolades, including the BOMA International's Office Building of the Year Award.

Akridge continues to maintain this trophy-class office and retail property, now owned by Mitsui Fudosan America, Inc., a majority interest shareholder, to the highest standards, continuously upgrading technology, incorporating green features, and enhancing amenities. 

The Homer Building achieved LEED Gold Certification in 2011, is an EPA ENERGY STAR labeled property, and has recieved a BOMA 360 Performance Building designation.

Parking

Underground parking, managed by Atlantic Services Group, is available Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 8:30 pm. The concierge for The Homer Building is Katrina Higgins. This complimentary service for building Clients can be used for event planning, sending corporate gifts, and more, and is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Building Amenities

The Homer Building has a number of Client based amenities including a concierge, roof deck, bicycle racks in the parking garage, a full-service fitness facility with racquetball court and personal trainer.


To use your building’s fitness center, please complete and return this form to the concierge. Once the concierge has received your completed waiver, please wait two to three hours before acccessing the fitness center to make sure that your fob has been properly activated.
