In 2009, major insurance company Legal and General America (LGA) selected Akridge to develop and construct its new North American headquarters in Frederick County, Maryland. Akridge worked with original owner Natelli Communities and architect Davis Carter Scott to deliver the 115,000 square foot LEED Certified building ahead of schedule in March of 2011. LGA moved its 350 employees from Rockville to the completed facility in the mixed-use, walkable environment of Urbana Corporate Center in June of 2011, and the building was purchased by Cole Real Estate Investments shortly thereafter. Akridge continues to provide property management for the facility.
